Old school vibe in Lake Placid

Add ImageAdd Image

This is the Art Devlin Inn located in beautiful Lake Placid. We are here for a training camp and I love staying at this totally old school motel. I don't always stay at motels, but when I do, I prefer the Art Devlin.

Base Camp X

This is a company I was introduced to at Uncle Otis here in Toronto. They had a display of axes on stumps in very cool colours as part of an "urban woodsman" display. I checked out the Base Camp X website and was really impressed with the fact it was authentic and very grass roots. I ordered an axe and also started communicating with the founder Graeme about a leather journal I also saw in Uncle Otis (which he hand delivered to me). His products are below. I bought the axe for my son to pass on to his son. It's that level of quality.

Base Camp X is a company to keep your eye on.....

Union Wood Co.

I recently found this owner operated company in BC. I bought these bags to keep in the back of my jeep for my riding gear and thought it would be great for camping as well. Made in Canada from recycled utility canvas. Their website is www.unionwoodco.com

180 South - Patagonia

I read both the book and watched the DVD over the last couple of weeks and this in my opinion shows why Patagonia is such an important brand and company in today's world. The photos, cinematography, music, packaging and overall presentation are incredible.
